“plant your favorite memories and watch them grow in this mason jar outdoor photo frame”
This simple, cute craft is a perfect way to keep the spirit of summer alive and well. Whether you give it as a hostess gift or as a summer birthday gift, this craft is sure to put a smile on the lucky recipient’s face.
What You’ll Need:
- Mason jar
- Hot glue gun & glue
- Fake succulents
- Small stones (such as vase filler rocks)
- A photo of your choice (with extra copies just in case you mess up)
Step 1: Cut out your photo and glue it to the cardboard. Cut the cardboard to match the size of your photo. Be sure your photo size will fit inside the mason jar – we used a 2.25″ x 3.75″ photo for a small jar and 3″ x 5″ photo for a medium jar.
Step 2: Glue the fake succulents to the lid of your jar. Cut the succulents as needed to get your desired look. Let dry.
Step 3: Add stones to the bottom of the jar, enough to coat the bottom plus a little extra. Be sure to fill no more than a third of the jar – you need just enough to hold the photo in place.
Step 4: Insert the photo into the stones, shake to settle the stones as desired, then screw on lid.
Step 5: Repeat as necessary for as many jars as you’d like to make!
For an extra thoughtful touch on this sweet summer craft, turn them into a party favor or a thank you gift. Have guests take their own photos with disposable cameras or use a social media hashtag to collect crowd-sourced photos. Then use those photos for this craft as a special way to say thanks for the happy memories. Makes a perfect party favor for barbeques, graduation parties, or weddings!
