Fall is here! That means it’s time for sweater weather, pumpkin spice everything, and an attitude of gratitude for all the wonderful things in our lives. This super cute (and easy!) DIY fall banner is a cheap and chic way to welcome fall, and share the spirit of the season with those you love.
What You’ll Need:
- 1 Ikea Placemat ($1.99)
- Colored Felt ($0.23 per sheet at Walmart)
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
- Wooden Dowel ($0.59 at Hobby Lobby)
- Printed Paper Templates from Thoughtfully (download below)
- Scotch Tape
Instructions
Step 1: Get your letters ready. Cut out the paper letters from our template then tape them to the corresponding felt color. Cut out the felt letters.
Step 2: Arrange your phrase of choice on the placemat.
Step 3: Use the hot glue gun to glue your letters in place. Let dry.
Step 4: Finish off your banner with a dowel and string! Cut your dowel to size (a little longer than the placemat), and place it at the top of your placemat. Lay a trail of hot glue on the top seam, then fold it over the dowel. Knot the string on both ends of the dowel.
Step 5: Wrap and gift! Or hang for yourself!
